Welcome back to the 2012 school year!
In Room 1 we extend a very warm welcome to Miss Gorman who will team teach our Year 5-8 student's with myself. This term is very busy with a particular focus on water based learning/ skill development. This Friday, weather permitting, we will hold our school swimming sports on-site. The Hurunui Zone Swimming Sports take place on the 28th of February.
Students will be tested within a variety of literacy and numeracy components during the next fortnight. Results will be used for to identify our student's needs and also to help organise class goupings for Term 1.
During week 8 of this term, we welcome E.R.O.: The Education Review Office to our school for our up-coming cyclic review.
We hope that you have all had a refreshing break and are ready for a productive and enjoyable year in 2012.
Please encourage your child to utilise this site to help with homework and to be aware of useful sites that your child can access, both educational and fun learning sites.

The graphs below illustrate the impact of our wiki site on our local community and the wider community during September 2011. Currently we are encouraging the use of our wiki site for weekly newsletters which include a fortnightly community newsletter. Feedback from parents and caregivers has been extremely supportive and when we are connected to ultra fast broadband in the coming weeks, this should be a lot more user friendly!
